Participation in Technoblasts
"Spin-Off" companies (Knowledge-Intensity Enterprises or Technoblasts) are enterprises whose activity is focused on the implementation of innovative business plans as well as the commercial exploitation of knowledge produced in Research Laboratories, Universities, Research Agencies, Research Centers, Technological Agencies as well as and in Production Units in Greece or abroad.
The utilization of research results aims to transform them into Technologically Innovative Products (goods and services) or Technologically Innovative Processes and Procedures.
In order to facilitate the practical application of research results, as well as for the benefit of the public interest, the University may participate as a partner in the corporate structure of Technoblasts. The University's corporate participation is through the Special Research Funds Account and can take the form of either a monetary contribution or a contribution in kind (as a kind of notional result of the research activity, the use of which is contributed in the corporate form).
The University of Crete participates in companies through the Asset Management Company of the University of Crete.
